I lead 90 minute live sessions in Zoom once a week for 11 weeks in a quarter term. During these live sessions, I lead students in class discussions and hands-on cataloging exercises, including small group breakout activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The class I teach most often is IST 616: Information Organization and Access. For this class, students get lots of hand-on practice with RDA, MARC, LCSH, LCNAF, DDC, and LCC. However, we also observe others kinds of metadata, in settings other than traditional libraries, to think more generally about a variety of approaches to different metadata standards and best practices. The asynchronous content for this course is by Professor-of-Record Jian Qin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IST 611 is the other class I teach most often for the iSchool: Information Technologies in Educational Organizations. This EdTech course was designed by by Professor-of-Record Marilyn Arnone, and I have worked closely with her to supplement her asynchronous lectures with other up-to-date content, as the field of educational technology is constantly changing, especially in response to the Covid pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have also taught sections of IST511, Introduction to the Library and Information Profession, and IST663, Motivation and 21st Century Learning,  both using asynchronous lectures created by Barb Stripling. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I teach several classes online for the School of Information Studies (iSchool) at Syracuse University, for their MSLIS program.
