My work for the Hudson Valley Visual Art Collections Consortium (HVVACC) was based around providing functionality to connect the Consortium’s digital collections in ContentDM to exhibits in Omeka. I adapted some Omeka plugins (in PHP) to connect to their ContentDM instance and to create custom exhibit layouts.
The HVVACC is a consortium of five organizations in NY’s Hudson River Valley: the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Center for Photography at Woodstock, Women’s Studio Workshop, Woodstock Artists Association and Museum, and the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild.
With support from the Institute for Museum and Library Services, members spent almost five years digitizing their collections, making them available through CONTENTdm. Now an Omeka site provides added functionality for online exhibits, linking back to the CONTENTdm pages. The consortium’s 2010 exhibition, “Linking Collections, Making Connections,” has been revived as an online exhibit on the new Omeka site.
